Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to everything regarding squad registration, payment fees, event duration, meals, campus Wi-Fi, allowed hardware, AI policies, and judging.

What is the registration fee for VAYUTHON 2026?
The registration fee is fixed at ₹999 per squad, regardless of whether your squad has 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5 members. It is not multiplied per participant. This covers full 24-hour hackathon entry, Wi-Fi access, Saturday Lunch, Saturday Dinner, and official certificates for all members.
Can students from different colleges form a squad together?
Yes, absolutely! Cross-college squads are 100% permitted. You can team up with friends or colleagues from different institutions, branches, and academic years. Fresh graduates (Batch of 2024 onwards) can also team up with current students.
What is the minimum and maximum team size?
A squad can consist of 1 to 5 members. Solo builders are welcome, as well as multidisciplinary squads combining software, hardware, and design skills.
What food and meals are provided during the event?
Food is provided for Saturday Lunch and Saturday Dinner. Because the hackathon runs from Saturday morning to Sunday morning and wraps up, no Sunday breakfast is provided.
Is internet access provided, and do we need LAN cables?
Campus Wi-Fi connectivity is provided for all squads. Note that no wired LAN cables are supplied, so please ensure your development laptops have functional Wi-Fi adapters.
Where is the venue located and how long does the event run?
The venue is Chalapathi University, Mothdaka, Guntur District, Andhra Pradesh. The hackathon runs continuously from Saturday morning until Sunday morning.
Are there rigid mandatory tracks we must pick during registration?
No! There are zero rigid locked tracks. We provide 10 Inspiration Sparks as prompts to inspire your project. You can build across any spark or bring your own original challenge under Spark 10: Self Innovation (Wildcard).
What hardware components should squads bring?
Squads must bring their own target hardware (Arduinos, ESP32, Raspberry Pis, sensors, soldering kits, jumper wires, motor drivers). Basic power outlets are available at squad tables, and squads are encouraged to bring an extension power strip.
Can we use pre-existing code and AI tools?
You are free to use open source libraries, npm packages, and standard frameworks. AI tools (Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude) are permitted for assistance. However, all core application logic and circuit wiring must be built during the hackathon, and judges will question your squad on your architectural choices.
Who owns the Intellectual Property (IP) of the prototypes built?
The participants retain 100% intellectual property ownership of everything they build. Neither the organizers nor the host university claim any rights, equity, or patents over your work.
What are the prizes and awards for VAYUTHON 2026?
There are 3 Podium Prizes: 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place awarded via immediate Spot Cheques on stage. In addition, the 1st Place Champion squad exclusively receives a Paid Internship offer! Furthermore, there is one exclusive Special Prize whose category criteria and details will be revealed live on stage at the venue during the event. Every attending builder who submits a project also receives a Certificate of Participation.
Will every participant receive a certificate?
Yes! Every registered builder who attends and submits their prototype will receive an official verified Certificate of Participation endorsed by Chalapathi University and GenMitra Innovations LLP.
Can we edit squad member details after registration?
Yes. The team leader can log in to the VAYUTHON Dashboard to update participant names and details until 48 hours prior to the event.
